Zeller Commits to Chesapeake Bowl

The University of Maryland will now have two of their future offensive linemen in the Chesapeake Bowl as Red Lion, Pa., native Andrew Zeller accepted an invitation to play in the game on Tuesday afternoon.

Andrew Zeller, a 6-foot-5, 280-pound offensive guard from Red Lion Area High School talked to Scout.com today about his opportunity to play in the first Chesapeake Bowl.

“I feel great being in the game and it’s definitely an honor to be in the game,” Zeller said. “It’s going to be good to get to play with Evan Mulrooney who I’ll be lining up with down at Maryland and it’s going to be a great challenge going up against some of the best defensive linemen in the Northeast part of the country which I love to do.”

The Chesapeake Bowl will be played on December 30th and will put the North against the South. The North team is represented by players picked from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware and the South team is comprised of players from Maryland, Washington, D.C., West Virginia and Virginia. The location of the game has not been decided yet, but should be announced shortly and all participants will go home with their own personalized jersey and a custom bowl ring which can be seen below in a lower resolution. The game will be open to the public.
