Green Accepts Chesapeake Bowl Bid

The Chesapeake Bowl is loading up on the defensive line and added Clairton, Pa., product Desimon Green to the roster on Tuesday night. Scout.com talked to him to get his thoughts on joining the prestigious event.

Desimon Green, a 6-foot-5, 220-pound defensive end from Clairton High School has just given his verbal pledge to play in the inaugural Chesapeake Bowl.

“I’m really anxious,” Green stated. “I wouldn’t have driven all the way down to tryouts in Annapolis if I didn’t want to play in this game badly, so finding out that I’m in it is great. Getting to play with a lot of my Pittsburgh Panther brothers is going to be really good because I’m great friends with those guys and we’ll have a lot of fun together out there.”

The Chesapeake Bowl will be played on December 30th and will put the North against the South. The North team is represented by players picked from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware and the South team is comprised of players from Maryland, Washington, D.C., West Virginia and Virginia. The location of the game has not been decided yet, but should be announced shortly and all participants will go home with their own personalized jersey and a custom bowl ring which can be seen below in a lower resolution. The game will be open to the public.
