Chesapeake Bowl Selection: Marco Jones
Three-star DE Marco Jones (6-3/250, Baltimore, MD, Boy's Latin) is a defensive standout that became one of the hottest prospects this past offseason. He saw his offer list expand rapidly and now he has added another offer to his list. He was offered to play in the Chesapeake Bowl and jumped at the chance to represent the South Team. "I'm really honored to be selected," said Jones. "It is going to be a big time game and I am glad I made the team. It is not only a great opportunity for me to represent myself but my high school team and my area as well." Jones saw his offer list explode in a matter of months last spring/summer before deciding that Virginia is where he wanted to be. He chose Virginia over a host of schools that offered him including Connecticut, Maryland, North Carolina, Penn State, Rutgers, Stanford and West Virginia. The Chesapeake Bowl will pit the North Team vs. the South Team. The North Team is represented by players selected from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware and the South Team is comprised of players from Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C. and West Virginia. The site of the game will be announced shortly. Each player will receive their own personalized game jersey and a custom bowl ring. The game will be open to the public.
