Three-star defensive end Quinton Jefferson was invited to play in the Chesapeake Bowl earlier this week and decided on Thursday night that he will be playing in the game. Scout.com talked to him about his thoughts on the game and his recruiting that night.
Quinton Jefferson
, a 6-foot-4, 230-pound defensive end from Woodland Hills High School in Pittsburgh, Pa., is starting to set up official visits and talked about that with us tonight, however he talked about his Chesapeake Bowl expectations as well.
“I’m excited and honored that someone has recognized what I’ve been doing and it’s also great that I’ll be able to play in the game and interact with future teammates and opponents,” Jefferson explained. “I expect to do well, play hard and get a feel for how good other players are and how I match up against them.”
“Recruiting is going well and I’ve been staying in contact with my coaches now,” Jefferson added. “I’m going to start setting up official visits soon and am looking at
Iowa
, Pittsburgh,
Cincinnati
,
West Virginia
and
Maryland
right now.”
The Chesapeake Bowl will be played on December 30th and will put the North against the South. The North team is represented by players picked from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware and the South team is comprised of players from Maryland, Washington, D.C., West Virginia and Virginia. The location of the game has not been decided yet, but should be announced shortly and all participants will go home with their own personalized jersey and a custom bowl ring which can be seen below in a lower resolution. The game will be open to the public.
