Polamalu Added to Chesapeake Bowl

The Chesapeake Bowl has finished up their backfield for now by adding running back Maika Polamalu from Pottstown, Pa., and will have a potent one, two, three combination in December. We spoke to him about the game on Sunday.

Maika Polamalu, a 6-foot, 210-pound athlete from Pottsgrove High School talked to Scout.com about his recent selection into the Chesapeake Bowl.

“I’m thrilled to play in the game and I have a ton of friends in the game like Terrell Chestnut, Dion Shaw and Damiere Byrd, so it should be a great experience,” Polamalu stated. “It’s going to be a great experience getting to play against these great players and teaming up with Jameel Poteat as a one-two punch and getting a little bit physical inside and then I hope to get a shot at playing some other positions as well as I’m going to play wherever the coaches need me. We’re just going to have a lot of fun out there.”

Polamalu currently has offers from Villanova, Temple and Navy and is also looking at California, USC, Michigan and South Carolina.

The Chesapeake Bowl will be played on December 30th and will put the North against the South. The North team is represented by players picked from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware and the South team is comprised of players from Maryland, Washington, D.C., West Virginia and Virginia. The location of the game has not been decided yet, but should be announced shortly and all participants will go home with their own personalized jersey and a custom bowl ring which can be seen below in a lower resolution. The game will be open to the public.
