Stone Plans First Game Visit

Chris Stone is happy to be a senior. He is happy to see his class at the top of the proverbial totem pole, but he is also happy to be the player underclassmen look to as an example. Stone takes that responsibility very seriously and he believes the work ethic and the winning attitude he and his classmates portray is translating over to the football field.

"We won the first week, lost the second week and came back and won last week. We're 2-1 right now," said Stone. "We're better than last year. I think we have the chance to be in the playoffs this year. I feel like we seniors are doing a good job.

"We've been playing together for a long time and there are 16 of us, so we can make a difference. Most of us have been together since we were little."

While Chris is happy to see some team success on the field, he believes his hard work in the off season has made him a more complete tight end.

"I have always been able to catch the ball, so I really wanted to work on my blocking," said Stone. "I am doing a better job blocking now. I can see a difference."

Chris picked up an offer from Mississippi State a few months back and he plans to check in on the Bulldogs in the next two weeks.

"I had planned to go to the Mississippi State/Auburn game, but I am going over there for the Georgia game," said Stone. "I am looking forward to that. It's not this weekend, but the next.

"I have been talking to Coach Dan Mullen on facebook. All of the coaches write me. They are telling me to work hard and have a good season."

The Bulldogs are not the only school that have been in touch with the talented tight end, but with an offer already extended they may be close to adding him to the committed fold.

"Auburn and Alabama are writing me some and Georgia Tech is sending me some things," said Chris.

"I feel like I am close to making a commitment, but I want to take some time and be sure about things. I am thinking a lot about Mississippi State, but I want to think about things a little longer."
