Northwest Scout Report
Northwest Scout Report Diondre Toms – Safety/Wide Receiver – Lindbergh (WA) - 2011Final Score: Meadowdale 48, Lindbergh 7Scout's Take: Diondre Toms was all over the field last Thursday against Meadowdale. He was routinely put in space and asked to hold up as the last line of defense. Toms showed a great ability to tackle in the open field and did not shy away from contact. On offense, he was able to find space running through the middle of the defense. Toms has a very slight frame and needs to add bulk as soon as he reaches the next level. All schools are recruiting him at safety, it is his most natural position. Recruiting: Offers from Montana and Portland State. Hearing from Washington, Washington State and Idaho. Northwest Scout Report Matt Stuart– Quarterback – Lindbergh (WA) - 2013Final Score: Meadowdale 48, Lindbergh 7Scout's Take: Stuart had a rough night throwing the ball. He was under heavy pressure all game long with the Meadowdale defensive line running over his blockers. Stuart has the height and appears to have the arm strength to play at the next level. But, there were also a lot areas in his game that need work. Stuart needs to improve his mobility, he had issues eluding the rush in the pocket and fell down a few times trying to roll out or escape. Stuart rarely set his feet before throwing, which led to little accuracy and the four interceptions he threw on the night. There is a bit of a hitch in his throwing motion that may have a role in his inability to consistently throw a clean spiral. It was tough to evaluate Stuart while he was playing a team that was clearly superior. However, he was not as polished a passer as I had hoped to see. Stuart still has two years to develop, but he does not appear to be as polished as other 2013 prospects like Max Browne. Recruiting: Hearing from Pac-10 and Mountain West schools. Northwest Scout Report Nik Landdeck –Linebacker – Issaquah (WA) - 2011Final Score: Issaquah 27, Liberty 21Scout's Take: Landdeck is a very complete football player. He always seems to be in the right position and ready to make a big play. This week he stripped the ball in overtime to seal the win for Issaquah. Landdeck has great speed and athleticism for the linebacker position. This summer, he was able to step in at WR at a 7on7 tournament in Las Vegas and didn't miss a beat. Landdeck has all of the physical tools to play at the next level but his greatest asset may be his intelligence. Interest around him should continue to rise this year. Recruiting: Interest in Idaho, Air Force, Washington, Washington State, and UCLA. Northwest Scout Report Evan Peterson –Wide Receiver – Issaquah (WA) - 2010Final Score: Issaquah 27, Liberty 21Scout's Take: Peterson has started the year on fire, racking up 194 yards and two touchdowns in game one. Then added another big score in the Eagles upset of top ranked 3A team Liberty. Peterson is a lanky receiver with very sure hands. He runs cleans routes and is able to get separation from coverage. Bulk and top end speed are the two areas where Peterson could improve. Recruiting: Peterson lists Arizona State, Army, Missouri, Idaho, Pittsburgh, and Washington State as his schools of interest. Northwest Scout Report Jake Bainton –Wide Receiver/Safety –Liberty (WA) - 2011Final Score: Issaquah 27, Liberty 21Scout's Take: Bainton did not play against Issaquah. He is still suffering from the shoulder injury he suffered against Skyline. He has been diagnosed with shoulder subluxation, an instability of the shoulder. He will miss at least a few weeks and while trying to return the shoulder to full strength. Recruiting: Interest from Washington State, Oregon State, Oregon and San Diego State. Northwest Scout Report Chandler Jenkins –Athlete –Liberty (WA) - 2011Final Score: Issaquah 27, Liberty 21Scout's Take: Jenkins continues to impress me at the corner position. He makes a great break on the ball and pulls in interceptions that many corners would drop. He had two interceptions against Issaquah, returning the second to the house for a touchdown. Recruiting: Offers from Wyoming, Air Force, and Eastern Washington. Interest from PAC-10 and Mountain West schools. Jake Worthen is a Northwest Recruiting Analyst for Scout.com.
