Joe Morrow - Wide receiver Ocean Springs: Joe is a prospect that has been on the radar since his first year of high school football.
Joe is long and rangy and displayed some new found toughness in the game. Morrow has typically been an outside the numbers, stretch the field sort of player, but the staff at Ocean Springs is finding ways to get the ball into #15's hands as often as possible.
Morrow works hard away from the ball which is something most of his peers do not. He has no problem engaging a defensive back and driving him backwards in an effort to spring a running play for a big gain.
Joe has good speed, good hands and the strength to fight for the extra yard to keep the chains moving.
DeWayne Cherry - Running back Ocean Springs: Cherry is another who made a name for himself early in his career as an underclassman.
DeWayne was primarily a change of pace back and a guy who could work the edges while current Southern Miss player Allen Howze could work inside.
Cherry is now getting those carries and showing that he can be a work horse rather than simply a 3rd down type back. He shows good discipline running behind the line and when he breaks containment he has the ability to turn it into a big gain.
Dawson Wells - linebacker Ocean Springs: Dawson is a big hitter. He does not possess great size, but he plays big. He is quick to the ball and brings a load with him at the point of contact.
He is a sure handed tackler and a very cerebral player. He does not let his aggressiveness lead to a lack of discipline.
I really like him in blitzing scenarios because he is able to pick his way through and get to the quarterback putting the offense behind the chains more times than not.
Devon Bell - Kicker Warren Central: Bell is a place kicking/punter combo with a college level leg. The talented junior may prove to be the best kicker in the state this season.
Bell is a two step punter who gets excellent hang time and distance. He also helps his coverage units by cutting off half of the field by utilizing his directional kicks.
