Texas ATH Frimpong talks offers & more
Irving (TX) MacArthur athlete Jason Frimpong is focused on finishing his high school career with a solid senior season. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound playmaker currently holds four scholarship offers and hopes that number will increase soon. Frimpong holds scholarship offers from Memphis, North Texas, Tulsa and Wisconsin. A couple of other schools have also been expressing interest in the Irving athlete. "I've been hearing from TCU and Western Kentucky. TCU invited me to go to the Baylor game this weekend and Western Kentucky has been calling me a lot lately," said Frimpong. Frimpong is being recruited as a defensive back as well as an athlete. "Wisconsin is recruiting me to play free safety and most of the others are recruiting me as an athlete right now." Frimpong and his teammates are 1-1 so far this season. He had 17 carries for 103 yards in their win against Mansfield Timberview, and 77 rushing yards along with 57 passing yards in a loss to Plano High. This week they take on Richland in their third game of the season. Frimpong has set some lofty goals that he hopes will take his team deep into the playoffs. "I want to get over 1,000 yards rushing and want to have a big game this Friday. Richland runs a 3-3 stack defense, so I think that will give me a chance to have a really good game." Tulsa and Wisconsin currently stand out to Frimpong but he claims that he is still taking his time in his recruitment. Stick with Scout.com for more on Frimpong's recruitment.
