One thing is for certain. Any team that comes up against the North Shore football team will need to come correct. After a Week 0 loss to Katy, this Mustang team has been on a warpath, putting up huge numbers.
Last Friday, North Shore beat Kingwood 48-21, a display of complete domination. In the win, quarterback Keenon Gibson was getting it done.
"This game was important for us to win. We want to bring the swagger back to the team and getting more wins is a goal of ours," Gibson said. "We just have to try and stay focused. Our mentality is win, win, win."
As for the numbers, the 6-foot-2, 202-pound Gibson was 4-of-7 for 81 yards and added another 128 yards on the ground. He threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to teammate and Division I prospect Devante Davis.
"My offensive line blocked really well and there were a lot of creases for me and I hit them," Gibson said. "The passing game we executed well and my boy Devante made some plays for me."
And apparently he has been making quite a few plays as well. Though Gibson is working to get more action going, he does hold a single Division I offer.
"Right now I only have one offer from Northwestern, but I look for more to be coming through soon," Gibson said. "There are not really any other programs that are looking at me."
With performances like this past one, there may be a few more coaches who come knocking soon enough. This season through four games, Gibson has generated 714 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Keenon Gibson had a bad day passing, starting 0-7, but he found other ways to help his team win…
