Gomez Seeing Red
Graham (Wash.) Graham-Kapowsin offensive lineman Thomas Gomez is a big reason the Eagles find themselves at 3-0 this season. Gomez is a very physical player that uses every bit of his 6'3" 285lbs frame. "I think that I am a lot stronger then I was last year," said Gomez. "This summer I spent a lot of time in the weight room and worked on my speed." Gomez has been offered by both Nevada and Eastern Washington. This past weekend he took an unofficial visit to Eastern. Gomez offered up his thoughts on the trip, as well as the new red field turf. "The visit went really well, they beat a good Montana team," said Gomez. "I thought that the new red field was awesome." Eastern Washington is the early favorite for Gomez. However, it's not all bad news for the Grizzlies, who also found their way onto Gomez's wish list. "I have been talking to some other schools that I think might offer," said Gomez. "I hope to get an offer from Montana, Montana State, and Portland State." Right now, Gomez is focused on his senior season and leading the Eagles against top ranked Curtis Friday night. The contest will likely determine the winner of the SPSL South. "We have taken a step up from last year to this year," said Gomez. "We were way more committed this summer than we have been in the past. I think we have a good shot to go all the way."
