Banner already considered an all-star

Scout.com confirmed via text that Zach Banner, a 6-foot-9, 295-pound junior offensive lineman from Lakes High School in Lakewood, Wash., has been invited to participate in the 2012 ESPN Under Armour game, which will likely take place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. in early January.

"The paperwork came in the mail," Banner said Sunday night via text.

Banner has not made a decision yet about playing in the game, and is hoping to hear from the U.S. Army regarding their post-season game before choosing. And he's hoping to play in both if the logistics could be worked out. If they are at the same time, he would make his decision at a later date. He's got plenty of time to decide.

Juggling schedules is also nothing new for Banner, who currently has 21 verbal scholarship offers (Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, California, Florida State, Georgia Tech, LSU, Miami (FL), Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, Penn State, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC and Washington). He's also considered a top basketball prospect for the class of 2012, having received verbal offers from Oregon, Washington, Wake Forest, Washington State, LSU, Georgia Tech and California.
