Schools Shuffle for Daniel
Armonze Daniel, the 6-foot-4, 230-pound three-star linebacker from Avon, Ind., still says Auburn is his leader despite not having an offer from the Tigers. "If Auburn were to offer me I'd commit right away," said Scout.com's No. 21 linebacker. "I know I'm on their board and I talked with their linebackers coach (Ted Roof) on Monday. He told me that he wants me to call them back by the end of the week. They've been my favorite school since day one." Earlier this month, Daniel expressed interest in LSU, Mississippi State and Iowa (offer), but now he says he only has slight interest in LSU. "I'm still kind of interested in LSU," he said. "They're coaches are in contact with me and I guess I'll find out soon where I stand on their board and if they're going to give me and offer. "I also had an official visit scheduled with Iowa for this weekend but that fell through as soon as I found out they were filled up at my position with some recent commits," he said. "I guess I took too long to make a decision on going there or not, and I'm just not interested anymore, and I don't plan on taking that official trip." There are a couple of other schools that have recently popped up on Daniel's radar. "I spoke coach (Bruce) Tall (defensive line) from Michigan on Monday and he said as soon as he gets my film to the rest of the coaching staff that they'd have an offer in the mail shortly," he said. "One of Nebraska's coaches also left me a voicemail recently and I'll be calling him to find out more if they want to offer me or not." Avon (4-2) will take on Lafayette Jefferson tomorrow, Oct. 1. Daniel claims to have 60 tackles, two forced fumbles and three interceptions this season. He reports a 3.4 GPA, a 13 ACT and a 710 SAT with plans to retake the SAT on Oct. 9 and plans to retake the ACT, but he has yet to set a date.
