League City (Texas) Clear Springs safety Howard Matthews was the second player from Clear Springs selected to the O-D All-American Bowl.

"Howard is a multi-dimensional player that will fit into our game as a linebacker, strong safety or a nickel back," said O-D's Artie Gigantino. "He and teammate Trevon Randle will bring a 'true defensive' attitude to our game. They come from a great high school program. Very rarely do we take two players from one team, but this is an exception based on performance."

Matthews, a four-star safety by Scout.com, is committed to Texas A&M, where he verballed in May to.

The O-D Bowl will take place on Friday December 31 at 4:00 pm EST, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and will be nationally televised on VERSUS.

Brandon is in his sixth year with Scout.com, currently as the West Regional Manager. Prior to joining Scout, he spent three years as an o-line and tight ends coach in the high school ranks.
