Running back Tre Mason has what he calls "as close to a top 5" and the Terps are on it…
Florida RB breaks it down
Tre Mason talked about how his senior season's been going. "My season is going great. I lead the county in rushing and touchdowns. I rushed for 667 yards and ten touchdowns. I wish I was able to play the second half usually they take me out." Mason, 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds, talked about the latest with recruiting. "Florida, Ole Miss, West Virginia, Penn State, Texas A&M, Rutgers, those have been the colleges I have been in touch with lately," he said. "Most colleges want me to come at the end of the season so they can spend more time with me. The definite ones right now are Ole Miss, West Virginia, Penn State and Texas A&M." Mason talked about what he likes about each of his current favorites. "Ole Miss, I just like the way their program is ran. I heard great things about their program. So I am definitely gonna try and take a visit." "West Virginia, same thing. I have a great relationship with the coaches." "Penn State, they have a great traditional coaching staff. I am looking forward to getting to know more about them." "Rutgers wants me as their main guys. It would be a great way to showcase my skill. They are not anywhere near the bottom." "Texas A&M, I have a good relationship with the running backs coach, he also played a couple years in the NFL so I know he knows what he is talking about. I wouldn't mind running for him." Florida, we just started getting back in touch. They want me to come up to the LSU on the 9th to see how I will fit in their program. I am gonna try to make my way up there but I am not sure if I will be able to because I have a game that weekend." Mason, who denies a favorite right now and claims a 2.7 GPA and an 830 SAT score, talked about what he's looking for in a school. "A great relationship with my coaches, because that is where I am going to be for the next couple of years of my life. Coaches that will help me prepare for my future in case I don't make it to the NFL. I know you have to be competitive to earn your spot, but I don't want to redshirt or nothing because I feel like I have the ability to be a true freshman."
