ScoutTV presents senior season highlights of the Danville (Calif.) Monte Vista offensive lineman and Ohio commit Jacob Welter...

Name: Jacob Welter
School: Danville (Calif.) Monte Vista
Position: Offensive Line
Size: 6-5, 291-pounds
Class: 2011
Recruitment: Committed to Ohio Ranking: Three-Star, No. 61 offensive guard Evaluation: Welter is one of the top offensive linemen in Northern California and has done it for one of the top programs in the region.  He's played tackle for his high school team, but projects more to play inside in college.

Welter is a road-grader, and routinely pancakes his opponents.  He does a good job reaching the next level in run blocking and is technically sound in pass protection.

We think he's a steal for Ohio and Frank Solich, who coached his father, Tom, at Nebraska.

Brandon is in his sixth year with, currently as the West Regional Manager. Prior to joining Scout, he spent three years as an o-line and tight ends coach in the high school ranks.
