Meet The "Mann" Child
A starter since his sophomore year, Ozzie Mann is establishing himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the Hoosier State. At 6'3, 225-lbs with good mobility, he can make plays with his arm and feet and so far this year, he is proving he can do it without big play receiver and current Indiana Hoosier Logan Young. Colleges are noticing his play on the field and he has heard from many schools, but some more than others. "Ball State, Indiana and Purdue have sent the most mail," he reported, but said Indiana, Kentucky, Syracuse, Stanford, UCLA and many others are also showing interest. He has had a chance to visit several of these schools and more. "I went to Wisconsin and saw the Arizona State game. It was a pretty cool experience. I talked to the quarterbacks coach and the recruiting coordinator from my area." He also had a chance to check out a pair of MAC schools in Ball State and Toledo. "They were good. Toledo was last Saturday, but I didn't really talk to the coaches. At Ball State I talked to the coaches there more." Many schools have invited Mann to games, but while he can't visit them all, he does plan on seeing more schools. "I think we're going to Ball State again this Saturday," his father Reece Mann said. "Western Kentucky is showing a lot of interest. They stopped by last spring and he went down to their camp and had a great time. They watched him throw the ball and called him the "Mann-Child" because of his size. Northwestern is also keeping track of him." Another school that will heavily be in the mix is Indiana, where his former go-to receiver is along with numerous other ties. "He's going to the Indiana-Iowa game," Mr. Mann said. "Coach Lynch's sons went to Delta." Mann will also be attending the Louisiana-Monroe at Western Kentucky game on November 6th and the Rutgers at Cincinnati game on November 13th.
