Scout.com often talks about under the radar prospects based on talent alone, but Fort Hill Sentinel linebacker Garrett Dolly is the total package of talent, brains and intangibles. Being in a small town is hurting him in recruiting, but whatever school gets him will luck out on signing day.
Floating under the radar right now is
Garrett Dolly
, a 6-foot, 215-pound linebacker from Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, Md., that is getting very little looks simply because of where he plays. Fort Hill has not had an FBS-level recruit since 1998 when flanker Mike Page went to
West Virginia
(initially a track scholarship) and the school is often skipped over by schools.
Dolly was invited all the way to New Jersey for the New Level Athletics 7-on-7 tournament in February to compete with FBS players from around the East coast and more then held his own while wowing his peers in the eye test along with
Rutgers
commitment
Quentin Gause
. He is used to playing in a 6-2 defense, but the coverage skills he showed in Jersey were very impressive, yet only the Ivy Leagues have been hitting him hard in Cornell and Pennsylvania and
Central Michigan
has also taken notice.
He played half of last season with a un-casted
shattered wrist
as he did not want to let his team down by coming out of their championship run, and boasts a max bench press of 325 pounds, a squat of 420 pounds, a hang clean of 300 pounds and can dead lift 500 pounds five times consistently. He was “a coach on the field” according to our talent evaluators at the Chesapeake Bowl and frankly, is a coaches dream being overlooked right now.
Syracuse
is one school he has consistently shown interest in and he would love to hear from schools like
Maryland
,
Boston College
,
Michigan State
and Rutgers as well, but is completely open. Here are his full junior highlights:
