Hubbard Leads 'Cats in Rivalry Win

Meridian running back Michael Hubbard is emerging as one of the top play makers for the #2 ranked Wildcats. Hubbard is expected to be one of the top prospects in his home state of Mississippi for the 2012 class. On Friday night he showed why he is so highly regarded. The talented junior was a threat in the pass pattern and he pounded out some impressive runs to keep Oak Grove on their heels.

"I played good, but it could have been better," said Michael. "We played real good as a team. It was just a great night for us tonight. It was a big win."

Hubbard broke the game open when he made an impressive over the shoulder catch on the run for a touchdown.

"I was real excited when I caught it," said Michael. "Once I passed the linebacker, I just turned around and hoped my quarterback saw me and he did. He made a good throw."

College coaches are beginning to send Hubbard information about their programs and two schools seem to be pretty serious about the talented running back.

"Alabama and Mississippi State are sending me a lot of letters," said Hubbard. "I don't have any offers yet, but Alabama it talking like they are going to offer me."

When the talented running back cast his lot with a college program, it will be because of two major factors.

"I am looking for a good environment and a good football team," said Michael."
