WAC Program Offers Whitmore
Things started to pick up for Spring (TX) Klein Collins offensive lineman Scott Whitmore about two weeks ago. It was at that time that one of Collins' big man got word that both the Louisiana programs Tulane and McNeese State wanted to offer him a scholarship. Now, he a Western Athletic Conference school put its name in the hat. "I got an offer today from New Mexico State. Coach (Drew) Svoboda told me," Whitmore said. "I got the other two offers two weeks ago." The 6-foot-5, 305-pound Whitmore is a big part of the Collins offensive line. To date, Collins is undefeated and the offense has racked up 2,374 yards of offense this season, 1,619 yards on the ground for nearly 270 yards per game. Aside from the three schools that have offered, Whitmore previously reported that Ivy League programs and in-state Southland Conference team Stephen F. Austin had shown some interest as well.
