Fisher Back from UW
Kelvin Fisher is one of Arizona's top remaining uncommitted players. The Higley High product made an official visit to the University of Washington this weekend; his commitment status remains the same but he had a great visit and talks with Scout.com about his visit up north. The highlight of the weekend seemed to be the double-overtime victory of #24 ranked Oregon State. "The game was sick," Fisher says. "It was a close game and fun to watch. I could really see myself playing on the UW defense; I really like their defensive scheme." Fisher is currently ranked a four-star safety but the Huskies are recruiting him as a cornerback, a position he has some experience playing but then again Fisher has played multiple positions. So far this year, Kelvin has lined up at quarterback, running back, corner and safety. His versatility shows up on his stat sheet; he has rushed for 973 yards and scored 16 times and made 43 tackles and 2 INTs. Other areas of interest that appealed to Fisher include the environment and the facilities, "I liked the school atmosphere a lot, and it was a great thing to be a part of. The facilities are really nice." Fisher maintains a 3.4 GPA and wants to major in sports management. The relationship with the coaching staff is typically at the top of most prospects' list and Fisher seems to be a big fan of Coach Sarkisian. "We talked about what he is doing to bring up the program and make it a better team," he says. "Things like bringing in young talent and just making the players start believing in his system." Fisher does not currently have any other visits set up and says, "I probably won't commit until after the season." But it looks like Washington is definitely still in the picture along with Arkansas, Arizona State and Oregon. Higley is on a hot-streak, they have won four games in a row to move to 4-3 on the season. This Friday, Fisher and his teammates face Gilbert Williams Field (7-0).
