ScoutTV: Hunter Matt Mid-Season Highlights

Wyandotte Roosevelt (Mich.) is 8-0 heading into this weekend's showdown with fellow unbeatens Southgate Anderson for the league title. A big reason for the Bears' success has been junior Hunter Matt, who we look at on tape today.

VITALS: 6-1 / 206 /

GAMES: First eight games of 2010

Analysis: Matt is one of those kids who just plays like a linebacker. He understands the position and has the instincts for it. He does a good job of finding the ball and getting to it, whether that means slipping or taking on blocks in between. He has good overall closing speed and lateral movement and he is a sure tackler, although getting stronger is something he will need to do. That is the main concern with him is how much bigger can and will he get. That will determine where he lines up. As it stands, he's a WILL in college or an ideal fit for a school that runs a system that has a rover or something similar. If he keeps adding size, he has the intangibles you want in a middle man.

Verdict: What a fantastic year he has had so far, and this is with teams game planning for him. Matt is a football player. I'm not completely certain which position is the best for him yet, but I am very confident that this is a kid you can just put on the field and he will find a way to get it done.
