The camp started off like many prior to it but quickly took an upswing when the live snapping began. It was quite apparent that certain long snappers really wanted to make an impression on Rubio and they did. Those particular snappers by class were the following….
2011: John Sheperdson, winner of the camp and an easy five star long snapper. Sheperdson is the whole package and will make a great college long snapper.
Tanner Gibas was the fastest long snapper in attendance and possibly the country. Amazing speed and an athlete make Gibas a great pick up.
Josh Elias was one of the fastest snappers at the camp with times dipping into the .6s at fifteen yards. Chris Longo, the tallest and longest of all the snappers in attendance has really been working hard and it is paying off. Devin Johnson, a transfer from Rhode Island will make a school very happy as soon as this spring and last, but certainly not least, Sean McNally, a JC transfer that is as accurate and smooth is anyone out there wrapped up a dominating 2011 class of snappers.
2012: Duke Moran has improved a ton in the past year and will be making a huge name for himself if he continues on this path. Sodie Orr and Randy Sue were both very accurate and on. Their biggest issue is that they are on the same team!
2013: Mike Lizanich stood head and shoulders above the rest in his class, but David Fleischman might just be creeping up on him soon.
Rubio Long Snapping and Chris Sailer Kicking will be touring the country this fall with their next stop being Chicago, followed by TX, NC and GA. All Nike Fall Camps lead right into the biggest camp of the year for long snappers, the 9th Annual National Snapping Event sponsored by Nike in Las Vegas on January 15-16, 2010.
