Texas QB Washington getting serious looks
Stephenville (TX) quarterback Conner Washington is one of the emerging prospects of the 2012 recruiting class. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound signal caller has been putting up solid numbers as a junior, and he is also being recruited by several premier programs. Washington has been having a strong junior year so far. He has thrown for over 1,400 yards and six touchdowns in the first seven games of the season. His performance has caught the attention of several programs around the nation and they have begun to show interest. "Right now Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, LSU Alabama and Texas Tech are recruiting me. I've been in contact with their coaching staffs and I recently sent my junior season tapes to all of them so they can see them," said Washington. Washington is a pro-style quarterback prospect that has a strong skill-set that projects extremely well to the next level. "I'm a guy that reads defenses pretty well. I have good arm-strength and good accuracy as well." Just because the Stephenville prospect is having a good year doesn't mean that he isn't trying to improve. There are a few aspects of his game that he hopes to improve on in the near future. "I'm trying to work on my speed. I run a 4.9 40-yard dash now but I think I can definitely get faster. I also want to improve on the chemistry that I have with my receivers and just improve overall as a quarterback." Washington is currently wide-open in his recruitment. He hopes to take visits to Texas A&M, Houston and Oklahoma this fall.
