Parker, Colo. - There might not be a better pair of offensive tackles in all of high school football than Brendon Austin ('11) and Shane Callahan ('12) of Chaparral.

Chaparral High School took on Douglas County on the Fox Sports Rocky Mountain game of the week last week, and it gave the county a chance to see arguably the best pair of offensive tackles in the country in senior Brendon Austin (6'6/275) and junior Shane Callahan (6'6/275) each 4-stars in his respective class.

Recruiting rankings are based on potential performance and not always current performance. An athletic lineman might not be a terribly good football player in high school, but he has the potential to star on the college level because of his frame and athleticism.

The highest ranked players are the ones that have already shown the skills on the field to go along with plus size and athletic ability.

Austin and Callahan fit into the latter category. College recruiters are immediately going to take notice of the 6-6 and 275 pound bookend tackles, but once the game starts, they're more than just the first guys off the bust. They're technically sound, productive offensive linemen.

Quarterback Andrew Loudenback was rarely pressured as Austin and Callahan would swallow up the pass rush. Running backs Chris Page and Jordan West had gaping holes in which to run through.

More than just size, Austin showed a good drop step and slide that let him pass protect against a much smaller, and seeming quicker, Douglas County defensive end.

Both players were asked to pull or reach the second level and block linebackers on several occasions, a task each of them was up to.

Austin is currently committed to Stanford, and Callahan is a member of the Scout 100 for the Class of 2012 and currently holds an offer from the home state Colorado Buffaloes.

See them both in action in this presentation by FSN and ScoutTV.
