With national signing day less than two months away, many prospects from the 2011 recruiting class…
More offers for Gilbert
Lancaster (TX) wide receiver Cedric Gilbert reeled in a few more scholarship offers over the fast few months. The 6-foot-2, 206-pound prospect now holds a handful of offers and more programs are beginning to express interest. Gilbert held scholarship offers from Tulsa and Colorado State and he recently added three more to his list. "UTEP, Nevada and Iowa State all offered me a few months ago. With those three offers I now have five all together," said Gilbert. Coaches from other major programs have also taken notice of the Lancaster wideout and they are now actively recruiting him. "Nebraska, TCU, Arkansas and Oklahoma State are all recruiting me pretty hard right now. I think that Nebraska and Arkansas are both close to offering me. They said that I'm the kind of player that they're looking for and they like my size and speed." At this point Gilbert is fairly wide open in his recruitment and he plans on hopefully taking some official visits within the next couple of months. "I want to make it to Iowa State sometime in December. The coaches said that I can play immediately as a freshman and they really want me there. I also want to try and make my way to Arkansas, Nevada Nebraska and one other school for official visits." Gilbert claims to be looking for a school in which he feels the most comfortable, has good academics and a culinary arts program. He has no timeline on when he plans to end his recruitment and is focusing on his senior season and seeing as many different schools as he can. Gilbert has racked up 220 receiving yards and five touchdowns so far in his senior season.
