Scouting Report: Mathis is a back that has great feet, balance, and quickness. He is not a burner when talking top end speed, but his initial burst is his biggest asset. He is hard to tackle in space, he makes guys miss, and he hides behind those big offensive linemen well to make it tough for the defensive linemen to find him before he is going past them. He has nice wiggle and he can catch the ball out of the backfield. Do not be fooled by his size either, he is a tough inside runner also, although he is best when in the open field.
