Kennard Backman has been waiting for scholarhip offers to arrive and they finally have.

"I just received offers from Western Carolina and UAB," said Kennard Backman.

"UAB'S Coach Davenport seems like he has positive energy about me and Western Carolina's Coach Palowski is a people person, so I am interseted in what he has going on."

The 6-foot-4, 220 pound tight end out of Mableton (GA) Whitefield Academy has been waiting for this day and getting those offers took a load off of him.

"I'm excited and It relieves a lot of pressure. I'm still going to remain open to other schools and Im also going to try and focus on the remainder of my season."

Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Middle Tennessee, and Georgia Tech are also showing interest in Backman.

Chad Simmons started out with Scout in 2003 covering top talent in Georgia and other areas in the South. He then moved on to another Recruiting Service from 2004-2008 before returning to Scout the first of 2009 to become Southeast Recruiting Manager.
