West H.S. More on Jake Fisher | #25 OT | | Profile Michigan Commitment List | Forums My Hotlist | Scout300 | Ask The Scouts Committed to: GAME: 10-29 vs Rockford Analysis: Fisher will play offensive tackle for the Wolverines, but does not play it in high school. Still, we were looking to see his athleticism and other tools that will help him transition to the position. On offense, the Titans played from behind and were forced to spread it out a lot, keeping Fisher off the field. When he was in during power sets, he was strong as a blocker. He bends well and gets low for a 6'7 kid and he has good natural strength. He was thrown a couple passes and showed good hands and more importantly, coordination for a big man. Defensively, he made a number of nice plays and tackles. He hustled and again, showed good movement for a bigger kid. I was looking to see if defense was a possibility, and while he had a good game, I came away thinking he was definitely an offensive lineman at the next level. I saw him play offensive tackle over the summer, where he earned his four star ranking and although TC West lost tonight, I don't think I saw anything but support for that ranking. He'll need to improve his technique, get stronger and learn the position, but he has all the tools and the toughness to be a starting tackle in the Big Ten after a year or two of development. Verdict: At the tackle position, the Wolverines have two youngsters in Taylor Lewan and Michael Schofield with a lot of potential and Lewan has started much of this year. That bodes well for Fisher, who will almost certainly red-shirt next year. By the time he's a RS-Frosh, those guys will be juniors and I believe he will learn from them and be able to move into a starting role his sophomore or junior year. Both of those guys added a lot of weight since high school without losing athleticism and I think Fisher will do the same and be a good one for the Wolverines.
