Williams In A Holding Pattern
Oil City (Pa.) senior wide receiver Dallas Williams was well on his way to a scholarship offer or two when we last spoke to him in April. For whatever reason things have not worked out that way for Williams. "I expected to have some offers by the end of summer," Williams said. "A lot of the schools asked me to send senior film, but nothing has come through yet." West Virginia has come on strong as of late according to Williams. "I don't remember which coach is recruiting me, but they said they like me as a strong safety," Williams said. "They told me they want to sit down as a staff and evaluate my film and see what they want to do as far as an offer goes." Williams also made the short trip to Akron to see the Zips play Syracuse. "I really liked it a lot at Akron," explained Williams. "I really like Coach (John) Latina who is recruiting me. The indoor facilities are real nice. The stadium was nice also, but I didn't know it was that new until you mentioned it." Williams who estimates that he has 30 catches for more than 600-yards and 10 touchdowns for Oil City (7-2) as they head into their regular season finale against Sharon this weekend says speed shouldn't be the reason he isn't getting offers. "I ran 40's at every camp that I went to and I ran decent times," he said. "I honestly don't know why I don't have offers other than they asked me for film."
