Breaking Down: DL/OL Fred Ward

Mississippi Scout
Posted Nov 10, 2010

Aberdeen is the favorite out of the North half to make it to Jackson this season. breaks down one of their star contributors below.

Name: Fred Ward
Aberdeen (MS)
Defensive End/Offensive Tackle
6' 4", 255-pounds
Favors Ole Miss and Mississippi State Ranking: NR live evaluation: Fred Ward has the frame to play multiple positions on the next level. He is a legit 6' 3" to 6' 4", 260-pounder who can move well for his size.

Ward has made an impact on both sides of the ball for Aberdeen. He lines up with his cousin Channing Ward at the defensive end positions. Fred projects to move down to defensive tackle or offensive tackle on the next level. He actually looked very comfortable playing right tackle and stayed with his blocks. On the defensive side of the ball his strength is stopping the run but he does have some nice moves and does get some pressure on the QB too. was in attendance for Ward's game against Winona where he recorded 7 tackles and 1 sack.

Yancy Porter is the Mississippi Scout for and he can be reached at
