Breaking Down: DL/OL Fred Ward

Breaking Down: DL/OL Fred Ward

Aberdeen is the favorite out of the North half to make it to Jackson this season. Scout.com breaks down one of their star contributors below.

Name: Fred Ward
School:
Aberdeen (MS)
Position:
Defensive End/Offensive Tackle
Size:
6' 4", 255-pounds
Class:
2011
Recruitment:
Favors Ole Miss and Mississippi State
Scout.com Ranking: NR

Scout.com live evaluation: Fred Ward has the frame to play multiple positions on the next level. He is a legit 6' 3" to 6' 4", 260-pounder who can move well for his size.

Ward has made an impact on both sides of the ball for Aberdeen. He lines up with his cousin Channing Ward at the defensive end positions. Fred projects to move down to defensive tackle or offensive tackle on the next level. He actually looked very comfortable playing right tackle and stayed with his blocks. On the defensive side of the ball his strength is stopping the run but he does have some nice moves and does get some pressure on the QB too.

Scout.com was in attendance for Ward's game against Winona where he recorded 7 tackles and 1 sack.
