It should not be long before the recruiting process picks up for Chicago St. Rita's Nick Dachota. A 6'7, 290-lb left tackle, he has only heard from one school so far, but it is one that is famous for big linemen.
"Just Wisconsin so far," he said, "I've been invited to games and I've been getting letters that tell me about how they've been doing."
Dachota has not been able to take the Badgers up on their offer to come to a came yet, saying, "I've had a game basically every time they have a game that I've been invited to."
Those kind of conflicts also arose last summer, during summer camp season.
"At Rita we have a pretty intensive summer camp that kind of restricts that, but I plan on going to combines over break and off-season and camps in the summer."
Expect Dachota's stock to rise as he does that. While it is possible that he'll begin hearing from programs across the country, he currently wants to start out closer to home.
"I'd really love to hear from any of the Big Ten schools to be honest."
And finally making it to Madison is also on the docket.
"I'm planning on trying to visit some schools. I want to see what's going on. If Wisconsin invited me to another game, I'd definitely go to it."
