Scout.com Evaluation: Smith is a player we've been high on for a while. He first caught our attention when we saw his junior film when he was playing at Liberty HS in Henderson (Nev.).
Smith has since moved back home to Arkansas, where he's from, and is playing at Fayatteville, and has the ability to play on either side of the ball, either as a receiver, or as a safety.
We think that Smith's best position is receiver. He's a very pristine route-runner, with good quickness and ability to get open. He needs to be more consistent in his pass-catching, but he can be explosive in the open field and is a definite red-zone threat.
We saw Smith quite a bit during the spring and summer playing with the 1925 All-Stars and at various camps, and he still looked a little slight, but has reportedly gained some good weight since his move to Arkansas.
