"I have three offers now," said Smith. "Harding and Delta State both called me yesterday and offered. I have an offer from Henderson State too. They are all in the Gulf States Conference."
The home state Delta State Statesman are very serious about signing Caleb.
"Delta State really wants me to come and visit them and Harding is talking about me coming up there," said Smith. "The coaches at Delta State want me to come up there real soon and see the campus and all of that."
A trio of schools from the SWAC are also beginning to show interest in Caleb.
"Alabama A&M have called me and they said they just found my film and they are interested. They want more film now," said Smith. "Alcorn State and Southern in Baton Rouge are showing interest.
"Central Arkansas sends me a lot of mail and I just sent them some film."
Caleb hoped to play on the D1 level, but even if that does not come to pass, the linebacker turning safety is thrilled to have the chance to continue his playing days beyond the prep level.
"I feel like it's tough to evaluate me since I play out of position in high school," said Smith. "I respect that and I am just grateful to have the chance to play college football.
"I am going to power lift this year instead of playing basketball. I am just going to lift hard and get ready for college football.
"I enjoy all of the other sports, but I know where my future is and I have to get ready to go play."
