A.J. Leggett committed to Miami about a week before Randy Shannon was let go as head coach.
Leggett is a 2012 cornerback out of Miami and he grew up loving the Hurricanes. His commitment to UM was more than just Coach Shannon and that is why he remains strong at this time.
"Me and Coach Shannon did not have a relationship, so him not being there does not matter to me. I would have liked for him to stay and be there when I was there, but I am still committed to Miami," said Leggett.
"I basically committed to Miami for two reasons; Miami is Miami and because of assistant coach Wesley McGriff (Secondary Coach). Those are the big reasons why I chose UM."
So Shannon being dismissed did not effect Leggett's commitment status, so if McGriff is not retained by the new head coach, could that?
"Most likely it would, but I am just going to wait and see," said the 5-foot-11, 175 pound corner out of Gulliver Prep.
