Houston (TX) Chavez running back Tim Gay had a solid senior season.
On the ground, he ran for 1,341 yards and 13 scores and had another 244 yards receiving with a couple touchdowns. Coming out of the off season, coach Dr. Mike Jackson knew that his star running back would have success on the field, which would be key in his recruitment.
And it did. Miami-Ohio, Colorado State and Nevada have all offered 5-foot-10, 185-pound Gay. Several others are still in the hunt, but Scout.com has been informed that Gay has some official visits lined up.
"He (Gay) has two officials lined up. For Miami (OH) and Nevada," a Chavez assistant coach said. "TCU and Houston are still showing interest as well."
For Gay, he has official visits set up with two of the hottest programs in the country with Miami-Ohio on December 11 and Nevada on December 18. This weekend, the Miami-Ohio team will play for the MAC championship against Northern Illinois (No. 25) and nationally ranked Nevada (No.17) caught a lot of press after spoiling the BCS title hopes of Boise State.
A member of the Chavez staff stated that most programs are looking for him to play at the running back position for the college level, but Houston is recruiting him as an athlete.
This week, Scout.com was informed that Houston Chavez running back Tim Gay has some official visits lined up for this year. Check out this feature to find out what programs will be hosting Gay on campus.
