Marino Daggan profile
"It means a lot to be here," said Daggan. "I never thought I would get to play in this game to be real with you.
"I am glad I am here. I am working hard and trying to do my best."
Marino has found a lot to like on the Mississippi roster.
"All of the defensive lineman have done a real good job," said Daggan. "Everybody looks good. I have never seen this much talent on one team."
Recruiting wise, things got off to a strong start, but the process has slowed just a bit over the course of the season.
"Some people are looking at me like Southern (Miss) and Mississippi State," said the south Mississippi standout. "LSU is sending me some mail. Mississippi State offered me last year, but they had some people come up from JuCo. I am not sure if that offer still stands or not.
"I have been to Mississippi State and Southern to see the campuses, but I am going to get out and see more schools because I am not playing baseball this year."
For now, Marino's focus is on picking up a victory for his home state over the All-Stars of Alabama.
"I feel like Mississippi is going to come out with a win," said Daggan. "We have talent on our defense and we have some real good playmakers on offense."
