Scout Brief: DT Chris Cormier
Not a bad year for Houston (TX) Hastings defensive tackle Christopher Cormier. Not only was a big factor in the Bears' playoff appearance, but he was also honored as one of the Top 10 finalist in the city for defensive player of the year. "It's just a great experience. I'm seeing things I have not seen before. Glad to be here for this night," Cormier said. On the year, the 6-foot-3, 305-pound Cormier finished with 47 tackles and six sacks. Those numbers are not bad considering Cormier took on quite a few double teams throughout the year. But for him, it was all good and just doing what he could for the team. "Our defensive line got after the ball. My teammates set it up for me and I did the same for them," Cormier said. "It worked out well. And over all, I think we had a great season. I feel like most of our wins were based on good defense." And it is apparent that he played defense well for most of the year as Cormier has a number of schools looking to ad him to the roster in 2011. Right now, he claims offers from Mississippi State and Missouri. He also said that he has a visit lined up. "I'm going to Missouri in early January. I'm going to set up other visits too," Cormier said.
