Kent (Wash.) Kentridge running back Cameron McKernan took an official visit to Moscow this past weekend. However, it was on his unofficial visit last weekend that McKernan made his college intentions known.
“I went on the unofficial visit last weekend and committed,” said McKernan. “This week I went on my official. Last week I didn’t expect to commit but I just got there and it felt right.”
McKernan enjoyed this visit and it further confirmed the decision he made a week ago.
“The visit was great,” said McKernan. “My host was Justin Veltung. We toured the campus and just hung out with the other recruits.”
McKernan highlighted to two main factors in his decision to play for the Vandals.
“I really like the area and the location. I have family that is over there,” said McKernan. “I also got to know all the coaches better… Coach Akey is great.”
McKernan is being brought in to play running back, the position he feels most comfortable at.
“They want me to come in and play running back,” said McKernan. “We aren’t exactly sure on a redshirt yet.”
McKernan is happy with his decision and doesn’t plan on exploring any other options before signing day this February.
“For now I am totally done,” said Mckernan. “I don’t plan on taking any other visits.”
