Offensive lineman Joe Thuney has received an official offer from Georgia Tech, and he intends to…
Thuney Gives the Latest
Joe Thuney has been a hot prospect since this summer when he camped at a few schools and earned several offers. Even though the season is over now, the 6'5, 235-lb offensive tackle prospect is still bringing in the offers, as Georgia Tech was one of the most recent. "I was really excited. Georgia Tech's a great school. They have great tradition. They been competing for an ACC Championship for awhile. It's a great school to be offered by." As for visiting the Yellowjackets, Thuney said: "I have not. They want me to come down for official visit on January 14th, but that's not set in stone. If I were to visit, I'd visit then." The only official visit Thuney has taken so far was to North Carolina State. "I took an official this past weekend. North Carolina State has a great campus. The coaching staff knew what they were doing. Hanging out with players, it was just fun." So fun in fact, that Thuney had to resist the urge to pull the trigger right then and there. "After the NC State official, I pretty excited, but I didn't want to make any rash decisions. I wanted to set my options on the table, and I don't want to rush anything. I have to see what Georgia Tech has to offer, what Michigan State has to offer, what West Virginia has to offer. I didn't want to rush a decision." What could further complicate the decision is if Thuney continues to add offers, which certainly sounds like a possibility. "As of right now, Missouri and Boston College are still in the mix. They haven't offered yet, made it official yet, but they keep in contact. I think it's close." Then there is Michigan State, one of those schools Thuney camped with this summer. "It's kind of hard to explain," Thuney admitted. "It's kind of in limbo. They said they would, but they haven't done it officially yet. It's kind of a sticky situation right now."
