Olack Impressed with Haywood
Massillon (Ohio) Washington three-star wide receiver Justin Olack was like many of his fellow Pittsburgh recruits caught off guard last week by the announcement that Dave Wannstedt was forced to step down as the Panthers head coach. "I was just stunned," Olack said. "I really didn't see that coming and it just kind of threw me for a loop. I just figured I'd wait it out and see what happens before making any rash decisions." Olack recently had his first conversation with new Pittsburgh front man Mike Haywood. "The conversation went very well," explained Olack. "He was telling me about the offense and how it would go. The wide receiver coach (Alex) Wood coached me in high school so I am pretty familiar with him and his style. I'm still thinking about the whole thing, but I'm probably staying with Pitt. I take my official there on January 14th, so I'll know for sure then. Wood was our OC here at school. He was a motivator and he is a very good coach." According to Olack, there are a lot of positives about Haywood. "I like that he isn't afraid to play younger players," Olack stated. "Coach Haywood seemed very cool on the phone. I like that he is a disciplinarian, most coaches should be. I can handle the discipline and I'm not worried about it at all. If you're a student athlete you should have a curfew, I'm not bothered by that." Olack told Scout.com that Boston College and Toledo are the two main schools who have been on him since this whole deal went down, but he has not schedule any visits, besides his Pittsburgh trip.
