Defensive Line
Starting on the inside, the East has Jonathan Taylor out of Jenkins County, Quayvon Hicks out of Pierce County, Jordan Barge out of Grayson, and Shaquille Huff out of Eastside. Leading the way in this group is Taylor. He is a 6-foot-4, 307 pound athletic lineman with offers from schools like Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, South Carolina, and Tennessee. He is expected to be one of the top defensive recruits in the state of Georgia next year. Hicks has offers from Duke, Miami, and Tennessee at this time as well.
On the edge, Leonard Floyd out of Dodge County, Sheldon Rankins out of Eastside, Carlos Hood and Jarontay Jones out of Stephenson, and Josh Dawson out of Tucker will look to do damage off the edge. All of these juniors other than Rankins already have multiple scholarship offers with Floyd being one of the top juniors in the state of Georgia. Alabama, Florida, and Georgia have offered the 6-foot-5, 225 pound athlete that could also play some outside linebacker.
This group across the front is very strong for the East defense.
Linebackers
The East has a good mix of speed and size on the second level of defense and Buford’s Dillon Lee will be leading the way. The 6-foot-4, 226 pound junior could play inside or outside and he is considered to be one of the best in Georgia at his position. Joining him will be Markuss Eligwe of Stone Mountain, Darreon Herring of Stephenson, Jacob Sealand of Tucker, Byran Attaway of Camden County, and Raphael Kirby of Parkview.
All of these linebackers can run and many are long with good range. Attaway is a very physical linebacker at 6-foot-4, 250 pounds and he could get some reps on the defensive line too. Lee, Eligwe, and Sealand have offers already.
Secondary
A number of teammates will be playing together back in the secondary for the East squad. Buford teammates C.J. Moore and Paris Head, Peachtree Ridge teammates Alex Lakes and Christian Goodlett, Charles Drew teammates Jardarius West and Devon Miller, will be joined by North Gwinnett’s Tim Hill on the third and final level of defense.
Moore, West, Miller, and Hill are all corners with Head, Lakes, and Goodlett locked in at safety. Goodlett could move down and help at corner while Hill could drop back and help at free safety if needed
Moore, West, and Miller have all been offered by Division I schools already.
Special Teams
Austin Hardin of Marist will be responsible for the kicking duties for the East Team.
