On a talented Cass Tech roster filled with underclassmen talent, junior Ruben Lile is a player that should not be overlooked.
Lile has great size at 6'3, 180-lbs and had a good season for Cass, catching four touchdowns one offense and coming away with one interception and over 40 tackles on defense.
"Most schools are looking at me as a safety," he said, "but a few want me as a receiver. I actually like safety better because I have more freedom. It's fun, but receiver's always been my thing, so I'll do whatever schools want me to."
Lile was one of the MVPs at the recent Adidas Maximum Exposure event in Auburn Hills, a good kick start into the off-season as he hopes to pick up more college interest.
"I heard from Toledo, Duke, Cincinnati, and that's about it right now. I want to hear from Texas, Miami (FL) and Ohio State"
The Blue Devils invited Lile down to their game against Alabama, but he said the distance kept him from attending.
In addition to increasing his recruiting profile, Lile also hopes to improve his game to help Cass Tech make another deep playoff run next year.
"I want to work more on my footwork and being in place to get more interceptions, and I want to work on getting off the line."
