Brown Looking To Make Impact
Harmon Brown, the 5-foot-9, 160-pound three-star cornerback from Boyd Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., will be taking his first official visit on Jan. 14 to Syracuse. "They really need corners," Brown said about the ‘Cuse. "They have a lot of guys leaving and I would be able to play early and make an impact." He says he also likes that TCU is joining the Big East next year. "That's bringing the Big East a lot more notice," he said. "It's brought some good attention to that conference." Brown, ranked as the No. 72 cornerback in the country by Scout.com, now favors Syracuse and Florida International slightly over Bowling Green, Auburn and Wake Forest. All have offered, except the Tigers. "They've got a couple of commits at my position already," he said about Auburn. He says he also plans to take an official visit to Florida International in January as well. "We haven't set up the exact date yet, but it's gonna happen," he said. The Golden Panthers are recruiting him the hardest. "They talk to me a lot and they've been recruiting me the longest," he said. "I really like how up-and-coming they are. That's a program I can see being in the top 25 next year. They're already doing some great things and I think I could help them be even better." Brown says he'll make a decision by the end of January. "I want a good environment," he said. "I also want to go where I'll get to play. I want to feel at home and interact well with the players and coaches. "If I had a strong favorite right now, I'd probably commit," he said. Brown helped lead his team to a 9-4 record with 41 tackles and four interceptions. He reports a 2.7 core GPA and a 19 ACT.
