Daniel's Final Four
Armonze Daniel, the 6-foot-4, 230-pound three-star linebacker from Avon, Ind., has narrowed his choices down to Purdue, Illinois, Marshall and Iowa State. All four have offered. Daniel, ranked as the No. 24 outside linebacker in the country by Scout.com, took his first official visit on Dec. 3 to Purdue. "It was very intriguing," Daniel said about his Purdue visit. "I liked it a lot more than I expected. The school has a lot to offer." He says the Boilermakers, along with Illinois, are recruiting him the hardest. "I like that they are a defensive team," he said about Purdue. "They're always sending defensive players to the NFL." He'll be visiting the Fighting Illini on Jan. 21. "I like the way they run the defense," he said about the Illini. "I like that I could play early there and think I could help them. They said they'd use me like a hybrid outside linebacker/strong safety. "They're also a winning program and still on the way up," he said about Illinois. Unfortunately, Daniel's cell phone died so his interview unexpectedly concluded. But we know he's also scheduled an official visit to Marshall on Jan. 14 and will take his final trip to Iowa State on Jan. 28. Auburn, a school that was previously No. 1 on Daniel's list, is no longer recruiting him. He finished his senior season (9-4) with over 80 tackles. Daniel reports a 3.4 core GPA and a 13 ACT and 710 SAT.
