Sacramento (Calif.) Grant safety James Sample had favored Washington for quite some time.
The Dawgs' dogged effort in recruiting the four-star ultimately landed them his commitment, the highest rated defensive commit for the Huskies.
"I was at their game against Nebraska on my visit and that didn't go good, but I saw them in their bowl win over Nebraska and the defense was tight," said Sample. "I knew that's where I wanted to go."
Sample chose the Huskies over Arizona State and Oregon State.
"Coach Sark and Coach Holt were recruiting me hard the whole time and I knew that was the best place for me," said Sample.
He's the fourth Scout 300 member to commit to the Huskies in the class of 2011.
