Monroe, Georgia's population is a little over 13,000 people, a small town in the grand scheme of things. Scout.com 4-star defensive end Stephon Tuitt is from Monroe. When he was selected for the Army All-American Bowl, he knew it was a big deal. He just couldn't believe his dream was becoming a reality. "It's a dream. Everything I have is a dream. Being from a small town, I'm the first one that has been picked for anything like this," said Tuitt. "I just thank God for all of this. To be on a stage like this is amazing. You think it's going to happen, but often it doesn't come true." Currently rated the No. 12 defensive end in the country, Tuitt and the East squad won in a defensive battle, 13-10. The Georgia product even recorded a sack, but none of that will be really remembered by Tuitt in the future. It will be his time leading up to the game. "I can use my experience and learn a lot. I think that if I compare this to a college level, it's pretty much the same. I have to get stronger and faster. I'm going to enjoy going back and trying to figure out what I need to work on before heading off to college," said Tuitt. "This experience has been great. I really got to meet a lot of new people and some great players. "Representing the US Army and everything they do was a great feeling. Something you take pride in. I'm glad that they asked me to be part of something like this." A Notre Dame commitment, Tuitt was one of three players to represent the Irish. He used the opportunity to mention South Bend to fellow All-American's who were undecided. "I just mentioned it to a few people. I wasn't going to be too strong. They have their own feelings and pressures. But I did want to put a bug in the ear. I'm telling people it's a great school," said Tuitt. "I chose that school because it had what I wanted athletically and academically. When I graduate from that school, it will be a great honor to get a degree from Notre Dame."
