Derius Bennett - DL - Carver-Columbus
Bennett Said: "This was a life changing event. It taught me how to make the right choices. The fun part was seeing what the East team was all about."
Mike Davis - RB - Stephenson
Davis Said: "I really like that this event gave every a chance to see that football will not always be here. Everyone doesn't make it to the NFL, only a small percent. It showed us all to have a plan B for life. We need to get our education and be serious about our grades. I like the fact that I met new friends and played with people I may see in college too."
Markuss Eligwe - LB - Stone Mountain
Eligwe Said: "We had a lot of motivational speakers who were very intriguing and special. They told their stories about obstacles and triumphs and it was great. RisingSeniors.com made me look outside of football. I will always make sure I have a back up plan but still continue to pursue my dream of making it to the NFL. I will remember a quote that Je'mone Smith said, "If you want something you've never had before you must do something you've never done before." My experience that I had with all of my fellow teammates was great. I enjoyed every moment. Thanks Joe and Izell."
Amba Etta-Tawo - WR - McEachern
Etta-Tawo Said: "My favorite experience about the week was listening to the active and former NFL players talk about there journey to where they are now."
Joe Harris - OL - Lithonia
Louis Said: "It was a wonderful experience with Joe and Izell. They are two wonderful men who put this together for us. I learned a lot about how football is more than just a game for us. It is about how you proceed with life afterwards and how it is good to have a back up plan to football."
Quayvon Hicks - DL - Pierce County
Hicks Said: "To sum up all the fun activities and speeches we got for the week I believe that the program is great not only for athletes but young teenagers who want to be somebody. It is great for people that need the advice and knowledge on how to begin the mission to success. I learned many things, but what stood out was giving back and understanding that football is just a game and there is a life afterwards."
Shaquille Huff - DL - Eastside
Huff Said: "I like to say thank you to Mr. Joe Burns first and to anyone who gets a chance to go, go because it is a great experience and the spekers are great."
Jordan Jenkins - DE - Harris County
Jenkins Said: "This was an experience you don't want to miss. It is a great way to get to know your fellow recruits and it prepares you for the upcoming senior bowl games. It gives you a better understanding of the whole college recruiting process. I really liked the chance of being able to play another game of football before my senior year and getting to play with the top players in Georgia. I also having the chance to raise money for children with cancer and of course being able to play football on television."
Jonathan Jones - CB - Carrollton
Jones Said: "It was an overwhelming experience. It was truly more than just a game. We learned so much more than how to play football we learned lessons about life. Also, the friendships that were made, its the only time ever you have to come together with other kids across the state who are just like yourself. They all share the same dream that I have and that's amazing."
Greyson Lambert - QB - Wayne County
Lambert Said: "I appreciate the opportunity given to me by Mr. Joe Burns and Mr. Izell Reese to play in the first Georgia Junior Bowl. The week was more about "off the field" and how football can have an impact on other peoples' lives. When we visited the Children's Hospital, I met a sick little girl. It definitely put things in to perspective. I also enjoyed working at the Children's Cancer Telethon. I wish I had performed better in the game. It definitely wasn't what I expected. But hanging out and getting to know great players from across the state and the overall experience was good."
C.J. Moore - CB - Buford
Moore Said: "The whole week was great. What Joe and Izell put together is really something special. Not only did I, along with all the other participants, get to learn more about the game but also about things in life to make us better men. What I liked most about this experience was bonding with people I would have never talked to. The team really came together like a family. If someone was unaware that this was an all-star game they would probably think my team had been together for years."
Chase Roberts - OL - Greater Atlanta Christian
Roberts Said: "It should be mandatory for all potential college athletes to go through something like the RisingSeniors bowl. Over the week we covered everything from SAT testing to learning how to handle your money responsibly. My favorite part of the week was going to the hospital and telethon while we were working with the Curing Kids Cancer Association. We all enjoyed the football part of the week but Mr. Burns and Mr. Reese made sure that we knew the main goal was trying to develop yourself as a total person, with or without football. I can honestly say after this week I have a new perspective on football and the importance of giving back to your community."
Quinteze Williams - OL/DL - Sandy Creek
Williams Said: "This past week was a great experience for me. I learned a lot about how important it is to get your book work straight. I also learned that we are a special group of people because we get to do what we want and that there are some kids out there who are sick and can't do anything. I really liked seeing all my old teammates and people that I played against. It was really fun."
