Jones Leaves Starkville with a Leader
P.J. Jones profile "My visit was great. Just one word, great," said Jones. "Chad (Bumphis) was my host. He was doing a lot of recruiting during the weekend. "He's been a big help to me. He helped walk me through everything and I had a real good time with him this weekend." P.J. enjoyed getting to learn more about the Bulldog football program, but he reports that he already had a good idea of what to expect. "I got to do everything I wanted to do," said Jones of the weekend. "I got to see everything. I was real familiar with everything already, so I just got to learn more about everything." One new face on the MSU staff, Coach Geoff Collins, helped host prospects for the first time in Starkville. "Coach Collins is a great guy," said P.J. "He seems like a real laid back guy, but I can tell he is going to make major impact up there. "I talked a lot with Coach Wilson and Coach Sallach and that went good." Before heading for home, Jones sat down with Coach Dan Mullen for a bit of an exit interview. "My meeting with Coach Mullen went great," said the Tupelo All-Star. "He told me that he really wanted me to come there and be a part of everything." P.J. says he plans to take his remaining visits to Ole Miss and Arkansas, but that both of those programs have some ground to make up. "Mississippi State is in first place," said Jones. "They are in the lead for sure. I was thinking about making a decision on signing day, but I might do it when I get back from Arkansas."
