Four Programs on Boyette Early Fave List
When you are as talented a player as Humble (TX) defensive tackle Paul Boyette, there not much worry as to if or when college offers will come your way. It's almost a certain. And while the big man who will likely be a Scout 200 player in the future is not one to boast, he does understand who he is and what skills he brings to the gridiron. "I feel like the recruiting process is going pretty good. I feel like I have the talent that will attract coaches," Boyette said. "And right now, I am focused on school and getting my body in the best football condition." So basically, the 6-foot-4, 280-pound Boyette has a good idea that the offers will come, and in great numbers. And based on the results, that is the case. Boyette stated that he has five verbal offers in hand right now: Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Notre Dame have all stepped up. But there are a number of other schools in the hunt as well. "I just go the Tennessee and Notre Dame offers on Tuesday. I have a good list of schools that have offered me up to this point," Boyette said. "There are some schools that have caught my eye. Tennessee, Oregon, Auburn and Texas are the schools." Boyette said that most of these schools have viewed his junior video and were impressed. And that good impression goes both ways as a couple of these programs will get the chance to see him on campus soon. Starting off, Boyette will be in College Station for Texas A&M on January 29 and a trip to Austin will follow. Later in February, Boyette will likely trip to Tennessee to check out the Vols program. All of these are for junior days. "I really like the SEC schools. And it feels good to be recruited by two teams that just played for the national championship," Boyette said. "And I really do like UT. I like the campus and everything around there. I visited there last year for a camp. I know what they are all about." The play of Boyette was key in the Humble team earning the district crown in 2010. He finished with 51 tackles (19 for loss), five sacks and nine knockdowns.
